On February 1, 2024, Faculty of Finance at City University of Macau hosted the financial seminar series [15] at the Ho Yin Convention Center on Taipa Campus. The seminar featured Professor Zhongming Wang, Senior Professor of Liberal Arts at Zhejiang University, Special Expert of Zhejiang Province, Professor of the School of Management at Zhejiang University, as guest speaker. Professor Zhongming Wang shared valuable insights on the topic of “Leadership in Green Finance and Sustainable Management”, and engaged in a lively communication with students.  The seminar was conducted in an enthusiastic atmosphere. Guests attending this seminar include Dean Adrian Cheung and Associate Dean Eva Khong of the Faculty of Finance, City University of Macau.

Professor Zhongming Wang is Senior Professor of Liberal Arts at Zhejiang University, Special Expert of Zhejiang Province, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of the School of Management at Zhejiang University, Director of the Global Entrepreneurship Research Center Zhejiang University, Dean of the Miller Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (in cooperation with Stanford), Chairman of the Silk Road Entrepreneurship Education Network (Belt and Road), and Director of the Research and Development Center for Women's Entrepreneurship at Zhejiang University-Oxford University. President of Zhejiang Behavioral Science Society, Director of the Expert Committee of Zhejiang Professional Managers Association, Honorary Director of the Industrial Psychology Division of the Chinese Psychological Society. In 2007, he won the first prize of "Fudan Outstanding Contribution Award for Management" (Business Administration). In 2020, he won the Meritorious Service Award of the School of Management at Zhejiang University. In 2023, he won the First Prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award. During the seminar, Professor Zhongming Wang delved into the exploration of how to continuously enhance new theories and methods on green transformation and sustainable development for high-quality development in the new journey of comprehensive green transformation and full promotion of Sustainable Development Goals, and provide new management principles and organizational psychology strategies for green finance and sustainable development. Professor Wang systematically explained the three sustainable strategies: entrepreneurial social responsibility strategy, environmental-social-governance strategy, and Sustainable Development Goal strategy, based on the framework of sustainable management model and eco-competence management, using the latest research outcomes and case practice to formulate a sustainable management leadership system with resilient leadership, empowerment leadership and change leadership, which significantly enhances the sustainability of green finance organizations.

Students actively posed questions and engaged in in-depth discussions with Professor Wang during the seminar, exploring the cutting-edge concepts and practical experiences of green finance and sustainable development in the financial field. The seminar provided special academic guidance and inspiration for the faculty and students while promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and academic exchanges. The Faculty of Finance at the City University of Macau expressed sincere gratitude towards Professor Zhongming Wang for his guidance. The Faculty of Finance will remain active in organizing such events, collaborating with distinguished scholars, and working together to promote the development of the finance field and the practice of sustainable management, and therefore revitalizing the financial sector.
