On March 5, 2024, the Department of Economics of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Macau and the Faculty of Finance at the City University of Macau successfully held a joint workshop at the University of Macau's Faculty of Social Sciences. Assistant Professor Kwan Fung from the Department of Economics at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Macau, along with his doctoral student Xingshu Ma, presented their working paper "Land titling and crop production efficiency in China: a meta-frontier analysis". Assistant Professor Hoipan Wong reported on the working paper "Aging, Diseases and the Great Dispersion of Wealth Distribution". Assistant Professors Di Li and Lin Deng from the Faculty of Finance at the City University of Macau reported on their latest working papers "Hedging China’s carbon markets" and "Workplace Gun Rights and Corporate Innovation" respectively.

Esteemed faculty members from both institutions also attended this workshop,  including Distinguished Professor of Economics Angus Chu, Head of Department of Economics, Associate Professor Inácio BÓ, Associate Professor Yibai Yang, Assistant Professor Ruiyang Hu, and Assistant Professor Yubo Tao from the Department of Economics of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Macau, as well as Dean Adrian Cheung, Professor Yonghong Zhou, Assistant Professor Meng Li, Assistant Professor Lu Liu, Lecturer Cheng Wai Sou, and Lecturer Kelly Liang from the Faculty of Finance at the City University of Macau.

The success of this workshop not only promoted academic exchange between the two parties but also effectively strengthened the connections and cooperation among higher education institutions in Macao.
