On November 11, 2023, the Faculty of Finance at the City University of Macau organized a visit to the Macau Business Aviation Center for a group of master's students. This visit was made possible with the strong support and arrangement from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Aviation Exchange Association, represented by Director Lin Bojun and Secretary-General Kou Huihui. Led by Mr. Chen, the faculty member of the Faculty of Finance specializing in financing leasing, and teaching assistant Kong Yitong, over 60 master's students participated in the visit.

Through the introduction and sharing session at the Macau Business Aviation Center, the students gained insights into the detailed operations of the center, including aviation leasing, business jet transaction services, specific reception procedures, customs services, flight take-off requirements, aircraft maintenance, and custody issues. Following the visit to the Business Aviation Center, the students also attended the Business Aviation Exhibition. They had the opportunity to interact and learn from various exhibitors, including business jet leasing companies, maintenance providers, general aviation airports, pre-owned business jet dealers, operators, custodians, FBOs, and business aviation service providers. Inside the exhibition hall, the students not only saw numerous aircraft models on display but also had the chance to visit the interior of the business jets on the tarmac, gaining a deeper understanding of their internal structures.

Since the inaugural Macau Business Aviation Exhibition in 2012, the business aviation volume at Macau Airport has nearly tripled over the past decade. Alongside Shenzhen and Hong Kong in the Greater Bay Area, Macau has emerged as one of the leading airports in terms of business jet take-offs and landings nationwide. In September 2016, the exhibition received UFI certification, attracting high-end business travelers from the Pearl River Delta, Hong Kong, Macau, and surrounding areas. This has further contributed to the development of business aviation in Macau, facilitating the progress of Macau's convention and exhibition industry, high-end tourism, and the business and trade services sector. The Faculty of Finance extends its gratitude to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Aviation Exchange Association for their support, which has facilitated more interactions between academia and industry for the students. This visit allowed the students to gain a better understanding of the aviation industry's development in Macau and increased their awareness of aviation financing and leasing. The students look forward to more visit activities to further enhance their understanding of financing leasing.
