The Secretariat for Social Affairs and Services has officially announced recently that the University is given approval to offer “Doctoral Degree Program in Finance” and “Master’s Degree Program in Finance”. The University will immediately kick start the admission exercise for the above Programs and students admitted are expected to commence their study in September 2018.
The City University of Macau is offering “Doctoral Degree Program in Finance” and “Master’s Degree Program in Finance” in view of the local, regional and international financial and economic development to nurture professionals urgently needed for characteristic finance and to accentuate the characteristics of the University. The two Programs place emphasis on practicality and innovation, connect creativity and practice in finance, emphasize the development needs of international financial markets and institutions, nurture middle and high end financial talent needed by government institutions, financial industries, multinational institutions, universities and research institutions.
The Programs will be guided by the City University of Macau’s mission and social responsibility of “Rooted in Macau and Serving the Region”. They will cater for social needs, focus on financial innovation and characteristic finance. The two Programs feature experimental learning, study of and research in finance, and international exchange with an aim to enhance the students’ ability in study of and research in finance and ability in applying what they have learnt in practice, broaden the students’ horizon and nurture talent for the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Hong Kong Great Bay Area and the development of the nation’s financial industries. We have an international academic team comprising teachers from across the strait, Hong Kong and Macao and overseas. The Programs are taught in both Chinese and English.
