“China Life-Guangfa Joint Lecture Series –The Presence and Future of Electronic Payment in Macao”

  “China Life-Guangfa Joint Lecture Series” co-organized by China Life Insurance (Overseas) Co., Ltd. Macau Branch, China Guangfa Bank (Macau Branch) and the Faculty of Finance of the City University of Macau was held at the City University of Macau on the afternoon of 15 January.  Ray Wu, General Manager of UePay Macao Ltd, our cooperation partner, was invited to deliver a speech on “The Presence and Future of Electronic Payment in Macao”.  Prof Michael T. Chng and Associate Professor Eva Khong, respectively Executive Dean and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Finance, Ms Lin Saiguo, Deputy General Manager of Corporate Department, Gao Jiawei China Guangfa Bank (Macau Branch), teachers and students of the Faculty attended the lecture.

                                                                               

  General Manager Ray Wu talked about the history of the development of electronic payment and the current developments of electronic payment if Macao, Hong Kong and Mainland.  He told teachers and students of the City University of Macao that as a foundation of economic activities, payment business was a “nature entrance” to financial ecology and as a payment method that made payment easier and faster for users and reduced costs for companies, electronic payment would definitely bring vast changes to different industries and different sectors of Macao.  Teachers and students at the lecture had lively discussion and raised questions on challenges concerning information security, sales, internal and external markets.  General Manager Ray Wu won applause from the audience for his professional and brilliant answers.
