CityU students explore Shanghai’s financial landscape and foster industry-academia ties

The City University of Macau (CityU) organized a study trip to Shanghai for its students and faculty to gain insights into the financial industry’s development and foster industry-academia ties. The delegation, led by Associate Dean Eva Khong Yueng Wah of the Faculty of Finance (FOF), consisted of 16 members, including students from various faculties. They were joined by FOF lecturers Sou Cheng Wai and Kelly Liang Yunjie, as well as Tiffany Leung Cheng Han, assistant professor at the Faculty of Business. The group visited several universities, companies, and financial institutions in Shanghai. The trip included visits to the Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance, the Business School of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, the Podong Branch of the Agricultural Bank of China Ltd. and its History Exhibition Center at the Shanghai Branch, the Lujiazui Management Committee of the Management Committee of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the China CITIC Financial Asset Management Co., Ltd. and the Guohang Ocean Shipping (Group) Co., Ltd. The students engaged in discussions with experts, scholars, and executives, gaining valuable knowledge about Shanghai’s financial economy, digital finance, and financial corporate culture and green initiatives. The trip aimed to facilitate academic and practical exchanges in finance, broaden students’ perspectives, and provide a platform for cross-disciplinary learning. This study trip was sponsored by the Macao Foundation.
