The 2018/2019 orientations for the undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Faculty of Finance of the City University of Macau

  The 2018/2019 orientations for the undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Faculty of Finance of the City University of Macau were held respectively on the morning and afternoon of 24 August at the Ho Yin Convention Center, new Taipa campus.  Prof Michael T. Chng, Executive Dean, Associate Professor Eva Khong, Associate Dean, Associate Professor Wu Zefu, Coordinator of Graduate Programme, Dr. Lin Deqin, Assistant Professor, Course Coordinator of BAE Programme, the academic staff,  administrative staff, and all new undergraduate and postgraduate students of class 2017/2018 of the Faculty of Finance joined the orientations.

                                                 

  Executive Dean, Prof Chong, kicked start the orientations with his welcoming remarks during which he cited lively examples to talk about the scope of economics and different research methods. Associate Dean, Associate Professor Khong, gave a briefing on the mission of the Faculty and the development approach of integration of enterprises, University and research.  She told students that the Faculty would invite world renowned professors and entrepreneurs to conduct team teaching in order to nurture more outstanding financial talent with leadership in the financial sector and international vision and competitiveness. With respect to the personal development of the students, Prof Khong expected them to focus on learning at the new starting point of their undergraduate or postgraduate study and wished that lives at the City University of Macau would become beautiful memory of their lives. Program coordinators of the undergraduate and postgraduate programs respectively spoke after Associate Dean Khong. They encouraged students to work hard, actively participate in social activities, gain learning and research experience to laid a solid foundation and get well prepared for their work and lives in future. The administrative staff of the Faculty of Finance also met with the students.

                                                        

  Lastly, teachers of the Faculty of Finance had friendly conversations with new students. Not only were students able to find out more about the University, they also had further understanding of both their professions and their lives at the University in the coming years, were clearer about their positioning, enabling them to face new challenges in their studies with greater confidence. Teachers wished new students enjoyable study, good health and all the best. The orientations ended with joy and laughter.
