On the afternoon of 3 August, the Faculty of Finance had a meeting with China Life Insurance (Overseas) Co., Ltd. Macau Branch and China Guangfa Bank (Macau Branch) on the cooperation agreements signed with them to discuss further cooperation projects and their implementation.  Participants of the meeting include Rector Zhang Shuguang of the City University of Macau, Mr Ding Rui, Deputy General Manager of China Life Insurance (Overseas) Co., Ltd. Macau Branch, Ms Jin Ling, General Manager of the Department of General Management of China Life Insurance (Overseas) Co., Ltd. Macau Branch, Yang Juan, Vice President of China Guangfa Bank (Macau Branch), Ms Lin Saiguo, Deputy General Manager of Corporate Department, China Guangfa Bank (Macau Branch), Associate Professor Eva Khong, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Prof Li Chun Lok of the Faculty of Finance.

  Rector Zhang warmly welcomed guests from China Life Insurance (Overseas) Co., Ltd. Macau Branch and China Guangfa Bank (Macau Branch).  Deputy General Manager Ding Rui spoke first and pointed out the purpose of the visit was to discuss cooperation projects in the areas of FinTech and cultivation of financial talent.  Both companies mentioned their bases, such as science and technology parks and data centers, which could offer student training opportunities, such as internship and field trips.  Rector Zhang then gave a briefing on the structure, admission, teaching theories and development directions of the Faculty of Finance.

  He pointed out that the Faculty of Finance would strengthen cooperation with enterprises in both teaching and research and would set up a cooperation network as soon as possible.  Rector Zhang said the Faculty of Finance had a financial engineering laboratory and placed emphasis on the integration of theory and practice.  He also invited experts from the two companies to conduct experimental team teaching at the University.
