On 18 September, the Faculty of Finance convened the Dr Vincent, W. K. Huen Scholarship Awarding Ceremony and Lecture in the Ho Yin Convention Centre. Members attending the seminar included: Senior Treasurer Vincent, W. K. Huen of SJM Holdings Ltd., Director Chen Fen of the Personal Banking and Channel Management Department of Bank of China Macau Branch, Vice Rector Kong Fanqing of CityU, and Associate Dean Khong Yueng Wah of the Faculty of Finance. Besides, the lectured was attended by the teachers and the students of the Faculty of Finance, who interacted with the lecturer.
Dr Vincent, W. K. Huen established the Dr Vincent, W. K. Huen Scholarship to motivate the students of the Faculty of Finance to continue to study hard and maintain a remarkable academic record. Vice Rector Kong Fanqing of CityU awarded Dr Vincent, W. K. Huen with a certificate of appreciation to extend the deep gratitude of CityU to him.
Subsequently, Dr Vincent, W. K. Huen shared his stories, expressing his praise for and expectation on the talent training of CityU and encouraging the students to study hard. The lecture featured questions and answers, and issues concerning economy, finance and contemporary international trade landscape were all included in the discussion. Besides, emphasis was placed on the China-US trade, the current economic and financial developments in Macao, major international financial and trading relations, the special finance in Macao, and the cultural influence on finance and trade. In the lecture, Dr Vincent, W. K. Huen answered the questions raised by the students with great patience, shard his school days and work experience, and underlined the importance of continuous education.
The Ask and Answer model adopted for the lecture was novel and interesting, for it not only promoted the interaction but also fostered a close tie between the students and the lecturer and greatly benefited the students.
