  On 4 October, The Demonstration Base Initiation Ceremony and Seminar of the Financial Manager Talent Growth Program in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area of the Silk-Road Entrepreneurship Education Network was held by the Faculty of Finance of CityU. Members attending the seminar included: Professor Wang Chongming from Zhejiang University, Rector Shu Guang Zhang, and the leaders of the Faculty of Business and the Faculty of Finance.

The base initiation ceremony

  Professor Wang Chongming, Rector Shu Guang Zhang and the leaders of the Faculty of Business and the Faculty of Finance unveiled the plate of the Demonstration Base for the Financial Manager Talent Growth Program in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area of the Silk-Road Entrepreneurship Education Network. Subsequently, Professor Khong Yueng Wah from the Faculty of Finance extended gratitude to Professor Wang Chongming’s long-term support for CityU.

The seminar

  Later, Professor Wang Chongming made a keynote speech, unveiling the curtain of the seminar. First, Professor Wang introduced the Silk-Road Entrepreneurship Education Network and briefly described the network’s cooperation and development plans. Then, he offered the details about the activities by the Silk-Road Entrepreneurship Education Network and the Global Manager Empowerment Assessment Program and shared some academic points concerning financial manager talents. Moreover, he expressed the hope that the CityU students would participate in the activities by the network and obtain the accolade certificates. The present teachers and students had a heated discussion with Professor Wang, and the situation was full of vigour and vitality. Finally, Professor Wang encouraged the students to seize opportunities, sharpen their soft skills through activities, research projects, practice and internship, and make self-improvement from four angles – occupation, professionalism, market and internationalization.

  The cooperative bases of the Silk-Road Entrepreneurship Education Network can be found in many different countries and regions, including China, Britain, Italy, Austria, Sweden, Japan, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Ecuador, Argentina, Peru, Uruguay and the Silicon Valley. They have established cooperation with a multitude of schools and enterprises and formed a global cooperation network of demonstration bases. The opening of the Demonstration Base for the Financial Manager Talent Growth Program in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area of the Silk-Road Entrepreneurship Education Network will help the CityU students develop their entrepreneurial and innovative capabilities and make progress in becoming a professional manager and contribute to a well-cultured academic atmosphere.
