On the afternoon of 26 March 2020, an online lecture about finance was held by the Faculty of Finance of City University of Macau, where Dr Chu Chin Lam, the director of the Macau Assets Management Association, made a speech titled "Analysis of Current Status of Insurance Market". The lecture was hosted by Associate Dean Khong Yueng Wah of the Faculty of Finance, and a large number of students attended the lecture through the online platform.
Dr Chu gave a detailed description of the current status of life insurance, property insurance and prospective virtual insurance companies in the insurance industry of Macao, so that the students had a general idea of the local and global insurance industries. Moreover, he shared many cases about major insurance companies, the investment portfolio models of insurance companies, and the global examples of insurance companies with high market value, including the development, asset market value and current operation of insurance. In addition, he made a macroscopic analysis of Macao’s insurance market through political, economic, social, cultural, technological, environmental and legal perspectives. The students benefited much from the lecture and had a fundamental understanding of the current status of the insurance industry.
