CityU Faulty of Finance Offered Professional Certificate in Financial Consulting (Executive Program) to Cultivate Financial Professionals
The opening ceremony of the 2020 “Professional Certificate in Financial Consulting (Executive Program)” jointly offered by the Faculty of Finance at the City University of Macau, the Macau Institute of Financial Services and the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants (IARFC) Hong Kong and Macau Centre was held on 10 October on the CityU Royal Center campus. Vice Chairman Chan Wai Shing and General Secretary Evelyn Kun of the Executive Board of the Macau Institute of Financial Services, Wong Wai Kwong, senior insurance training director of a renowned international insurance firm in Macau, Lou Io Chou, senior consultant on insurance training, Allan Wan, Executive Director of IARFC Hong Kong and Macau Centre, Kong Fanqing and Adrian Cheung, respectively Acting Rector and Dean of Faculty of Finance of CityU, attended the opening ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, Acting Rector Kong Fanqing welcomed new students on behalf of the University. It was the seventh year that the Program was offered and over a hundred of financial professionals had been nurtured. The Program had received many applications that year and a training course was organized for insurance practitioners from renowned international insurance firms in Macao and 28 tainees had been admitted. Acting Rector Kong thanked the two partnering institutions (Macau Institute of Financial Services & IARFC Hong Kong and Macau Centre) for cooperation over the years. She encouraged students to continuously improve their professional qualities, make use of their strengths in the financial industry in the future, seize the current development opportunities in Macau's financial industry and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and contribute to the development of Macao and the country.

Vice Chairman Chan Wai Shing extended his congratulations on the opening ceremony. He believed that as the country had vigorously promoted the cross-border financial management business in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, there will be greater room for talent cultivation in the areas concerned. He also thanked the two cooperating units (CityU and the IARFC Hong Kong and Macau Centre) for their support of the Program and gave trainees enrolled in the Program his encouragement and bestowed expectations on them.

Dean Adrian Cheung welcomed all new students and pointed out that with the SAR government attaching great importance to the development of the financial industry, the CityU Faculty of Finance was committed to making contributions in teaching, research, and talent cultivation in the financial professional areas.
Allan Wan, Executive Director of IARFC Hong Kong and Macau Centre, delivered a welcoming speech online from Hong Kong and thanked the partnering institutions.
