On the afternoon of February 25, 2021, "The 40^th Anniversary of the City University of Macau Finance Seminar Series [11]" was held by the Faculty of Finance at Ho Yin Convention Centre. This seminar invited Professor Tong Yuan Chun, Executive Dean of Hong Kong Global Enterprise Resources Management Academy Co. Limited., an International Resource Scholar and the Founder of The Six-Element Theory of Resources and the Author of The True Story of Petroleum, as a guest speaker. The theme was " Mentality of Business Development". Professor Tong graduated from Tsinghua University and is an expert in research on the solution to the development of moderate economic diversification of Macao and the modern distinctive finance services and special financial products and services. Promoted innovative, forward-looking, practical and constructive theoretical research in the field of resources. Guests attending this seminar include Dean Adrian Cheung and Associate Dean Khong Yueng Wah of the Faculty of Finance of the City University of Macau.

Professor Tong Yuanchun started with an introduction to the question of the moderate economic diversification of Macao. He talked about the role of innovation, entrepreneurship, and R & D in it. His speech stimulated students’ thinking about the industry and vividly showed what is meant by "Mentality of Business Development". He shared the domestic and international scholars’ views on the mindset of business development, emphasized the need to strengthen self-awareness in business development, gave examples of things that if you don’t go all out, you must not give up easily, and pointed out that whimsical and out-of-nowhere thinking plays an important role in cognitive innovation.

The speech ends with the applause of the students. The students ask questions about the digital security of the banking industry and the development of digital finance and the speaker was also enthusiastic to answer their questions. The event ended successfully.

As the first seminar held by faculty of finance in 2021, it presented the university’s teaching philosophy of combining “enterprise, learning, and research” and provided students with a fruitful academic feast. Students said that they had the better understanding of the influence of the industrial thinking on the country and its own development and looked forward to the coming of the next seminar.
