Finance Seminar Series [13] [Ping An Cross-Border Forum] – First Talk

On the afternoon of 24 February 2022, the Faculty of Finance of the City University of Macau held the Finance Seminar Series [13], Ping An Cross-Border Forum – First Talk, at the Ho Yin Convention Centre. Mr Li Yuliang and Miss Luo Gi, Deputy General Manager of Ping An Bank Co., Ltd, were invited to deliver speeches titled “Cross-Border Business Introduction” and “Things to know when you come to Ping An Bank” online respectively. Guests attending this seminar include Dean Cheung Wai Kong, and Associate Dean Khong Yeung Wah of Faculty of Finance, City University of Macau.

Mr Li first introduced cross-border financial operation model of Ping An Bank, which consists of five cross-border account systems, including foreign currency, OSA(Offshore Account), NRA(Non-Resident Account), FT(Free Trade) and overseas branch. The service covers domestic and overseas enterprises, which not only ensures the security of accounts and funds, but also provides the most comprehensive one-stop and integrated financial service scheme. In addition, Mr Li introduced four types of cross-border financial products of Ping An Bank, which include investment and financing, global credit, trade finance and treasury management. He also shared the background, target customers and characteristics of the products.

For the students of Faculty of Finance to have a better understanding of Ping An Bank’s campus recruitment, the Faculty specially invited Miss Luo to share with the students. According to Miss Luo, Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China is a company integrating finance and technology, and positioned as an international leading technology-based personal financial life service group. On the other hand, its subsidiary, Ping An Bank, aims to become China's most outstanding and world-leading intelligent retail bank as its development strategy, and strives to accept fresh students who are innovative, efficient and integrated into the team. It advocates job rotation learning and provides opportunities for leaders of departments to share experience and teach by example, so that fresh students can easily integrate into the company and grow rapidly.

At the end of the sharing, the students took this valuable opportunity to actively pose questions about the challenges and opportunities of the future development of the banking industry. The Faculty of Finance will continue to invite experts in various fields of the financial industry to share their insights with students, to enrich their knowledge of financial markets and practices.
