Faculty of Finance of CityU Macau and School of Business of Shanghai Normal University Tianhua College Explore Cooperation in Cultivating Talents

On the morning of 16 February 2023, the Faculty of Finance of City University of Macau (CityU Macau) and the School of Business of Shanghai Normal University Tianhua College held an exchange and cooperation meeting on the Taipa Campus. The meeting was attended by representatives of the School of Business including Dean Baoqing Cheng, Ms. Xi Li and Ms. Yuxi Zhang of the Department of Financial Management, as well as Dean Adrian Cheung and Associate Dean Eva Khong of the Faculty of Finance of CityU Macau.

 

Dean Adrian Cheung extended a warm welcome to the School of Business of Shanghai Normal University Tianhua College and gave a detailed introduction to the structure, establishment background, curriculum, enrolment, teaching philosophy and faculty members of the Faculty of Finance. Dean Cheung pointed out that by collaborating with renowned foreign universities, the Faculty will provide students with a diversified learning experience, strengthen their international perspectives and enhance their competitiveness.

 

Associate Dean Eva Khong introduced the programmes jointly organised by the Faculty and different financial enterprises, and presented the Faculty’s teaching achievements in cooperation with industries, universities and research institutions. The Faculty actively carries out financial lectures and academic salons to enhance students' diversified experience learning, strengthen students' ability to combine theory with practice, and meet the urgent requirements of the development of the financial industry and financial talent training in the future.

 

Dean Baoqing Cheng shared the background, development and educational features of the School of Business, Shanghai Normal University Tianhua College. With the orientation of application and internationalization, the Business School attaches great importance to the integration of production and education, and strives to cultivate students' professional practical ability and innovative abilities. It coincides with the concept and characteristics of the Faculty of Finance of CityU Macau, and Dean Cheng expresses the expectation to jointly promote the cultivation of financial talents with the Faculty of Finance in the future.

 

In the meeting, the two parties deepened mutual understanding and cooperation and conducted an extensive discussion on jointly fostering financial talents in the future, academic exchanges and scientific research project cooperation. It is expected that this exchange meeting will build a good platform for long-term cooperation in the future and make corresponding contributions to the cultivation of financial talents in the future.
