The Campus information session for "The 16th ICBC Cup: National FinTech Innovation Competition for College Student - The 5th Macau FinTech Innovation Competition for College Student" was held on the morning of September 17, 2025, at the Golden Dragon Campus of the City University of Macau. Distinguished guests attending the information session included Mr. Deng Lechi, Product Innovation Team Lead from the Financial Technology Department of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Macau) Limited (ICBC Macau); Ms. Liu Yongtong from the Institutional Team of the Inclusive Finance Department; and Ms. Hau Tong I from the SME Team. Also present at the event were Associate Dean Eva Khong and Assistant Professor Liu Lu of the Faculty of Finance from the City University of Macau.
First, Associate Dean Eva Khong of the Faculty of Finance warmly welcomed the ICBC Macau campus promotion team for coming to the university to conduct the information session for the students. Mr. Deng Lechi provided a detailed introduction to the competition and its schedule. He pointed out that ICBC Macau annually provides a platform for students from Macau's higher education college to showcase their talents and promotes innovation in financial products through bank-university collaboration. The aim is to advance the development of FinTech talent in Macau, support the construction of Macau as a smart city, cultivate high-quality, interdisciplinary FinTech professionals who are familiar with international, mainland Chinese, and local financial market trends and proficient in technological innovation, thereby injecting talent resources into the FinTech development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The information session allowed students to fully understand the submission format and judging criteria for entries. Subsequently, Mr. Deng provided several project ideas for the students' reference, including areas such as riding the tech wave and the future of banking, with directions like artificial intelligence, personal finance, cross-border finance, and industry-specific scenario services. Regarding awards, all finalists will receive honorary certificates; the main competition prizes are divided into first, second, and third prizes for the main creative teams, along with awards for outstanding creative teams and outstanding faculty advisors. Finally, Mr. Deng Lechi expressed his hope that students from the Faculty of Finance at City University of Macau would utilize their strengths to showcase excellent projects in the competition.
Ms. Liu Yongtong from the Institutional Team of ICBC Macau's Inclusive Finance Department also gave a brief introduction to the development of ICBC's financial business, providing students with more insights into Macau's financial industry. Lastly, Associate Dean Eva Khong expressed her gratitude to ICBC Macau for actively providing a platform for City University of Macau students to showcase their talents. She encouraged students to seize the opportunity this year, form teams, participate enthusiastically, learn, enhance their practical financial capabilities, and cultivate a spirit of teamwork.
