Finance Elite Cohort - Mentoring Day

With the start of the 2025/2026 academic year, the Faculty of Finance at the City University of Macau welcomed the new 2025 Finance Elite Cohort students. To help the students quickly adapt to university life and experience the unique features of Elite Cohort program, the Faculty of Finance held the Mentoring Day on 25th September,2025. The event was attended by Dean of the Faculty of Finance - Adrian Cheung, Associate Dean Eva Khong, Program Director of the Finance Elite Cohort Program Professor Markus Leibrecht, as well as the mentors and the students.

                                                               

Dean of the Faculty of Finance Adrian Cheung stated off with an opening remark. He warmly welcomed the new students to the Faculty of Finance family. He emphasized the importance of mentors-mentees relationship and stated that the purpose of the event was to establish a communication bridge between the students and their mentors.

                                                               

Following a welcome speech, Professor Markus stated that each new student will be assigned a mentor, who will provide guidance and support in both academic and personal matters, encouraging students to actively communicate and engage with their mentors. If students have any questions regarding their studies, research, or future career planning, they are encouraged to seek advice from their mentors at any time. Professor Markus also highlighted the academic progress of past Elite Program students and shared the upcoming scheduled activities for Elite Cohort students.

                                               

                                               

Later, each mentor introduced themselves, providing the students with deeper insights into their mentors' academic research areas.

In the second half of the event, students were encouraged in discussions with their mentors, further enhancing interaction between the new students and the faculty members. The Faculty of Finance also prepared some refreshments for the participants to enjoy this harmonious gathering.

                

                

The event not only gave new students a glimpse into the culture of the Faculty of Finance but also laid a solid foundation for their future academic journey. The Faculty of Finance looks forward to sharing a fulfilling and enjoyable academic year with its new students.
