Established by the patriotic businessman Mr. Zhuang Shiping in June 1950 and formerly known as "Nam Tung Bank" in Macau, formally renamed as Bank of China Macau Branch on the New Year's Day in 1987 and became the 9th overseas branch of Bank of China.
Bank of China Macau Branch holds a full banking license and provides corporation banking, personal banking and related financial services in Macau. In recent years, Bank of China Macau Branch actively expands business in investment banking, structural financing, and comprehensive cross-border banking services in order to provide better internationalized professional services for customers and meet their various financial needs. At the same time, we are giving full support to the Macao SAR government's administration and the development of characteristic finance and the construction of smart cities. At the end of 2018, Bank of China Macau Branch has 35 sub-branches with a total asset of over MOP680 billion, boasting over 40 percent of the local market share in mainstream businesses such as savings, loan and profit. We have employed 1,700 employees, which is approximately about 25% of the total number of employees in Macau's banking industry. While promoting economic development and creating wealth for the society, we also provide local talents with a wide range of employment opportunities and possibilities of social upward mobility.
Bank of China Macau Branch has upheld the principle of "Rooted in Macau, Steadfast in Serving" for nearly seventy years and has become a mainstream and first-choice bank in Macau. Acting as one of the two note-issuing banks and the agent bank for the Public Treasury, we are also the Chairman of the Macau Association of Banks and the Clearing Bank for Hong Kong Dollar, US Dollar and RMB. Through a series of financial innovation, promote the development of characteristic finance, help the Macau SAR government to show the advantages of Macau and serve the country.
