The programme is jointly organised by the Faculty of Finance of CityU Macau, the Macau Institute of Financial Services (IFS), and the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants (IARFC). A total of 28 students obtained the Professional Certificate in Financial Consulting and the Registered Financial Consultant (RFC) designation.

Rector Jun Liu of CityU Macau and Chairman Vong Sin Man of the Management Committee of the Macau Institute of Financial Services attended the ceremony and awarded the Professional Certificate in Financial Consulting to the graduates. Rector Jun Liu warmly congratulated all the graduates and hoped that they will make full use of their expertise in personal financial planning, taxation, law, investment and so forth, enhance their business capabilities, and broaden their perspectives, so as to serve the financial services industry in Macao and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Rector Jun Liu also thanked the IFS and the IARFC Hong Kong and Macau Centre for their long-term support and cooperation.

Mr Vong Sin Man, Chairman of the Management Committee of the IFS, said that the financial services industry will become the pillar and mainstay of Macao’s adequate economic diversification in the future. Along with the promising future of the industry, the demand for talent and the professional qualification required for industry practitioners will continue to increase. The IFS, in collaboration with the IARFC Hong Kong and Macau Centre and CityU Macau, has been offering the programme for seven years, in the hope of cultivating talent for the industry and promoting Macao’s financial services industry. Chairman Vong also extended his congratulations to the 28 graduates and wished them every success in their careers.

Dr Teresa So, Chairman of the IARFC Hong Kong and Macau Centre, was unable to attend the ceremony in person due to the pandemic. In her video speech, she expressed her great pleasure to witness the 28 students obtaining the RFC designations and becoming members of the IARFC and congratulated all graduates. She mentioned that the ceremony proves that all the graduates have met the high standards of education, experience and ethics, and that their position in the industry and customer satisfaction will be improved. Although the pandemic is striking the global economy hard, it is believed that it has pulled through since the toughest period with the successful development of vaccines. Dr So also thanked CityU Macau, the IFS, and the insurance industry for their long-term support to the programme.

The programme provided training to 28 industry practitioners from well-known international insurance companies in Macao, all of whom successfully obtained the Registered Financial Consultant (RFC) designation. The RFC is a professional designation awarded by the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants (IARFC) to financial advisors who meet the high standards of education, experience, and ethics. The students expressed the honour they felt to have participated in the programme.
