On the afternoon of 18 March 2021, the Faculty of Finance held the “40th Anniversary of City University of Macau Finance Seminar Series [13]: 2020/21 [China Life - Guangfa Bank Joint Lecture] Series (4)” at the Ho Yin Convention Centre. Mr Tang Ka Wing, General Manager of the Security Investment Department of Guangfa Bank Macau Branch, was invited as a guest speaker to share his views on “Investment Like A Fool (Investment Psychology)”. The seminar was attended by Deputy General Manager of Guangfa Bank Macau Branch Lim Baoguo, Deputy Director of the Banking Department of Guangfa Bank Macau Branch Leong Ka Man, as well as Dean Cheung Wai Kong and Associate Dean Khong Yueng Wah of the Faculty of Finance of CityU Macau. 

 

 

Mr Tang shared his own financial market experience. He analysed the essence of risks and how to use derivatives to hedge risks. Students actively asked questions about issues of interest, and the seminar ended amid warm applause from students. The attending guests shared their personal investment experience, gave relevant tips, and answered questions about “margin call”, “investment diversification”, “dollar cost averaging”, and “stocks with insider information” in detail. 

 

 

 

The participating students learned the key points of investment practice at the seminar. This seminar was the fourth “China Life - Guangfa Bank Joint Lecture” held by the Faculty of Finance in celebration of the 40th anniversary of CityU Macau. Maintaining the University’s teaching philosophy of integrating enterprises, universities, and research institutions, the Faculty of Finance has been holding diversified activities in various forms for students and inviting domestic and overseas brokers and investors as guests, in a bid to enhance students’ understanding of financial practice.
