Silk Road Entrepreneurship Education Network Conference

  On April 8 2019, the "Belt and Road" (Silk Road) Entrepreneurship Education Network Conference" jointly organized by the Silk-Road Entrepreneurship Education Network, Global Entrepreneurship Research Center of Zhejiang University, Faculty of Business, Faculty of Finance and the Institute for Research on Portuguese-speaking Countries of the City University of Macau and Macao 'One Belt and Road' Research Center was held at Ho Yin Convention Centre. International experts and scholars in entrepreneurship development and research were invited to present their reports.

                                                                

  Guests and scholars who attended the Conference included Prof Andrew Lock, Chairman of AMBA International Accreditation Advisory Board and the Silk-Road Entrepreneurship Education Network, Prof Wang Chongming, President of the Silk-Road Entrepreneurship Education Network and Senior Professor of Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences of Zhejiang University, Pro-Rector Ip Kuai Peng of the City University of Macau, Dean José Alves of Faculty of Business,

  Associate Dean Khong Yueng Wah of Faculty of Finance, City University of Macau.

                                                              

  Pro-Rector Ip Kuai Peng and Professor Andrew Lock delivered the opening speeches. They pointed out that with the "Belt and Road" initiative, the education sector should nurture a new generation of talent with international leadership and innovative spirits.  Continuous efforts should also be made to achieve globalization of education.

                                                                 

  Then, Prof Wang Chongming from Zhejiang University, Prof Andrew Godley from University of Reading of Henley Business School, Prof Ito Takehiko from Nagoya University of Commerce & Business and Prof Alexander Welzl from the University of Applied Science in Vienna delivered their keynote speeches and shared their insights.  The speakers talked about the key issues that start-ups faced from the perspectives of digital start-up, global entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial spirit.  They also explained the development of the concept of responsible entrepreneurial spirit and the significance of its implementation and presented their outlook of the new developments in future Silk Road entrepreneurship education.  The speakers then cited real examples to illustrate the influence of complementary theory on the taxonomy of entrepreneurial system.  By pointing out the positive influence that the "Belt and Road" initiative had on the new types of start-ups and the hopes the initiative brought for the start-ups, the speakers analyzed the development of and changes to China’s innovation in recent years.  They believed that the "Belt and Road" imitative helped promote progress in science and economic development, built a bridge for development of global entrepreneurship.  The speakers concluded their speeches by saying that responsible enterprises was the latest development of the innovative practice of global entrepreneurship.

                                                              

  During the "Seminar on Family Business Entrepreneurship" hosted by Prof Wang Chongming in the afternoon, Dean José Alves, Prof Tadao Onaka, Dr Hu Honghao delivered speeches on the above topic.  At the "Seminar on Entrepreneurship and Social responsibility Research" hosted by Prof Andrew Lock, Prof Zhao Yanhai, Prof Xue Xianfang and student Qian Shuquan presented their unique perspectives on the topic and had in-depth discussion on issues such as entrepreneurship and social responsibility.

                                                             

  At the end of the seminars, Prof Wang Chongming and Prof Andrew Lock commented on and summarized the key points discussed.  They reiterated the importance of innovation development to the nation and the role that Silk Road entrepreneurship played in promoting progress in technology and national development.

                                                                

  A lively interactive session was held during which students, experts and scholars had discussion.  Experts answered questions in detail.  The importance of international innovation was established at the Conference.  The discussion on Silk Road entrepreneurship education is important in promoting progress in technology and national development.  It will also help develop a better international education platform.
