On 14 November, "China Life-Guangfa Joint Lecture Series - Integration of Financial and Technology - Digital Transformation in Banking" was held at Ho Yin Convention Centre. The event was sponsored by Macao Foundation and jointly organized by Faculty of Finance of CityU, China Life Insurance (Overseas) Co., Ltd. (CLIO) Macau Branch, and China Guangfa Bank (Macau Branch). Mr Zhang Zhonghua, Deputy General Manager of Personal Agent Department of CLIO Macau Branch, was invited as the guest speaker of the seminar to deliver the keynote speech on "The Role of Insurance and Impact to Society".

  The guests present also included Mr Jiu Sijyun, General Manager of Business Development Department, Macau Branch, CLIO, and Mr Ho Dungban, General Manager of Banking Department, China Guangfa Bank (Macau Branch).

  At the seminar, Mr Zhang Zhonghua elaborated on the impact and significance of "the function of insurance", "the role of insurance", "the characteristics of insurance", and "the derived function of insurance" to the society. The application of social management function is inseparable from the realization of economic compensation and the accommodation of funds. Economic compensation is the most basic function of insurance, the fundamental feature that distinguishes it from other industries, and a specific demonstration of its financial attribute. It is one of the important means in social management.

  Later, students on-site actively asked questions and exchanged views with Mr Zhang Zhonghua on topics including the development of the insurance industry, which helped them better understand the relevant circumstance of the insurance industry and the significance of its development.
