On the afternoon of September 20, 2021, the Faculty of Finance of the City University of Macau held the Finance Seminar Series [3] and China Life-Guangfa Bank Joint Lecture [1]. The speaker was Mr. Dino Kam, Senior Manager of China Life Insurance (Overseas) Company Limited. The seminar’s theme was “Financial Pyramid”. Guests attending this seminar include Dean Adrian Cheung and Associate Dean Khong Yueng Wah of the Faculty of Finance of City University of Macau, Mr. Zhang Zhonghua, Deputy General Manager of Personal Agent Department of CLIO Macau Branch.
At the beginning of the seminar, Mr. Kam analyzed a few key basic living expenses including marriage, education, medical service, transportation, housing, retirement, and pointed out that the significance of cultivating awareness of financial investment and wealth management during different life stages. Furthermore, Mr. Kam suggested that four stages of financial investment and wealth management including basic stage, hedging stage, growth stage and high-risk investment stage. Mr. Kam thoroughly analyzed the differences between Hong Kong & Macau and Mainland China across the board in terms of service, policy, supervision system and regulations.
Mr. Zhang Zhonghua pointed out that guided by the national policy, deepening co-operation among Greater Bay Area has presented both opportunities and challenges to Macau. To fully leverage the integrated advantages of the deepening co-operation amongst Macau and Hengqin, more comprehensive and facilitative services would be provided to Mainland China market by Hengqin based Macau insurance companies.
This fruitful seminar ended with a Q&A session, questions from students were answered patiently by Mr.Kam and Mr.Zhang, which deepened student’s understanding of Macau financial investment and insurance industry.
