The delegation from the Department of Economics of Lingnan University visited CityU to promote exchanges

A delegation from the Department of Economics of Lingnan University led by Professor Kent Lai visited the City University of Macau (CityU) on June 20 and was warmly welcomed by Associate Dean Eva Khong of Faculty of Finance. Both sides expressed their interest in discipline construction, exchanges between teachers and students, and future cooperation.

 

Associate Dean Eva Khong warmly welcomed the visit of the delegation from the Department of Economics of the Lingnan University, and introduced the development process and achievements of CityU and Faculty of Finance from the aspects of the Faculty's scientific research achievements, laboratory construction, historical background and external cooperation. Professor Kent Lai then introduced the Department of Economics of the Lingnan University, and discussed the positioning of Macau in the financial industry, the development of Hengqin and Macau, academic research and student cultivation. The two sides look forward to further discussions and cooperation on mutual visits between teachers and students, academic research and talent cultivation in the future, so as to jointly promote the development of financial talents in the Greater Bay Area.

 

The Economics Department has 14 full-time academic staff members and offers two distinctive Taught Postgraduate (TPg) Programmes, which are Master of Science in International Banking and Finance (MIBF) degree and Master of Science in International and Development Economics (MIDE) Programme, respectively. The department contributes to all majors in Social Sciences and supervise a number of MPhil and Ph.D. students.

 

Guested attended the discussion include Lingnan University's Department of Economics, Professor Simon Fan, Professor Stan Ho, Professor Yonglin Wang, Dr Wenshu Guo and Assistant Teaching Officer Xiang Tang, as well as Professor Yonghong Zhou, Course Coordinator of Graduate Programme and Assistant Professor Lin Deng of the Faculty of Finance of CityU.
